    Herbal Medicine (Turmeric)

Some conditions that turmeric may be effective in treating include:

    – Arthritis
    – Cancer
    – Alzheimer’s disease
    – Diabetes
    – Heart disease

Turmeric is also called "Indian Saffron" and is a member of the ginger family. Commonly used in curries and other Asian dishes, the health benefits of turmeric are well known. Herbalists praise its anti-inflammatory properties as well as its ability to improve circulation and detoxify the body.

Turmeric supplements are available in capsules, tablets, tinctures, and teas. The recommended dosage depends on the form and reason for taking turmeric. Be sure to follow package directions and talk to your doctor before taking turmeric supplements.

Turmeric is generally safe to take, but it can cause some side effects like stomach upset and diarrhea. It can also interact with certain medications, so be sure to speak with your doctor before taking it.
