Is it health insurance that pays real medical costs, or just a group of folks that will pray for you?

CHM is a scam for sure. Just looking at the structure of the program it looks like a nightmare.

An incident has to be paid by the patient until they have first paid a certain sum.
    Is this correct?

This organization us a scam. I joined and 9 days later I ended up in the ER out of town being jaundice. I was admitted for 5 days where they could not determine what caused my bile duct to close off. Referred to a bigger hospital wit a specialist where they found bile duct cancer. Turning jaundice was my first symptom. CHM is trying to say it was pre-existing and won’t pay. Pathetic, hiding behind the name "Christian". It’s October 30th and now they hang up on me and won’t pay. I’m about to have to secure an attorney. Don’t use them unless you wait for at least a year before you have a claim. Use Zion Healthcare. From this experience I’m going through while fighting cancer us despicable!

I have had CHM. it is a nitemare . still getting collection calls from ananstesiology and radiology. paid my 5000.00 deductable and will apparently be paying or left holding the bag for 6000.00 more in bills from hospital and dr for Typhus.

I am looking into this, however I am an alcoholic and active recovery through AA as well as a Christian , I’ve been sober for five years this coming Christmas Eve. However, sobriety is not guaranteed if God forbid I relapse and need to go back into treatment. Is that something that will be covered?

    Too generic, no real meat.

CHM is terrible. we have been paying into chm specifically for major medical expenses.
I got Typhus in the summer of 2024. Nearly died. I was in the hospital ICU 6 days and 4 days regular hospital.
I filed recipts when i could actually walk and get to doing some work. Had to call and go to some offices to get invoices with medical codes. I also had problems with my eyes and hearing some of which is permenant but related to the Typhus. it is 6 weeks later and they claim to be sending a check but no specifics on which ones. When i called they proceded to tell me that i need to apply for financial aid.. wait, what?? So, I am to claim i need indigent care/financial aid. Sorry, no. My mother did not raise me to take from something that is for the needy. I thought i was being responsible by having this limited insurance for my care. I have paid the 5000.00 deductable plus over 2000.00 in added bills that they(CHM) wont cover.
CHM has all the billing from hospital and still rejecting two bills. I cant figure out the billing?? this is not my field, if i wanted to work for an insurance company then maybe i could sift thur the miriad of billing and medical codes.
Be aware they take forever to pay, they expect you to do all the filing not the dr and hospitals, they expect you to file for financial aid like you are destitute. we were on the gold plan for paying for all visits to Dr and all our prescriptions out of pocket. switched to silver when buisness dropped. Glad i did given what little they pay. I will pray for you CHM.

Update. apparently these people have a deal with the hospital and everything but radiology and anastesiology have been taken care of … still holding the bag for over 5000.00 in bills.

Isn’t this type of insurance for people that don’t have a lot of money

  11. @TheSavvyCouple on March 20, 2025 at 11:04 pm

How much are you currently paying for health insurance per month?

  12. @MoneyMan28 on March 20, 2025 at 11:05 pm

Don’t make a kid because it costs like $100,000 dollars from 0 to 18 years
Be single like most people so a major accident never happens
